Originally from Banff, Dr Iain McLardy qualified from The University of Aberdeen Medical School in 2006 with MBChB BSc Med Sci (Hons).  He completed his Foundation Training in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary (Gastroenterology and General Surgery), Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital (Medical Paediatrics), Woodend Hospital (Orthopaedics), Caithness General Hospital (General Medicine) and Peterhead Health Centre (General Practice).

He went on to undertake GP Specialty Training in Ardach Health Centre (Buckie) and Dr Grays Hospital (Elgin), rotating through Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics, General Medicine and Accident and Emergency, becoming a Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners in 2011.  

Between 2011 and 2019 he was GP Partner at Deveron Medical Practice in Banff, before becoming GP Partner in Peterhead Health Centre until 2023.  He has previously undertaken Advanced Life Support training and has recently updated his Basic Life Support qualification.  He is an approved Oil & Gas UK Examiner.

His interests include performing steroid injections for common musculoskeletal complaints and he has undertaken further training in Diabetes. 

Married with two sons, Dr McLardy enjoys quality time his family outwith his work life.  He is a keen golfer and member at Duff House Royal Golf Club.
